Welcome to Rata.ng, an online classified marketplace for buying and selling new and used products in Nigeria. By using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before using Rata.ng.

1. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) constitute a binding and enforceable legal contract between Rata.ng Online Marketplace (referred to as “Rata.ng,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and you, the user (“you,” “your,” or “user”). By accessing or using the Rata.ng website and mobile applications, as well as any service, content, or data available via them (collectively, the “Service” or the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, or if you are not eligible or authorized to be bound by them, please do not access or use the Service.

Please also review our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Other supplemental terms, such as the Refund Policy, Anti-Scam Policy, Cookie Policy, and Copyright Infringement Policy, are also expressly incorporated herein by reference.

2. INCORPORATION OF ADDITIONAL TERMS

In addition to these Terms, certain services offered on the Platform may be subject to additional terms, conditions, or rules. These additional terms will be made available with the applicable services and are incorporated by reference into these Terms. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and any additional terms, the additional terms will govern the applicable service.

3. MODIFICATION OF TERMS

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or update these Terms at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice. All changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Platform. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

4. ELIGIBILITY

To use Rata.ng, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or the legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
  • Be legally capable of entering into agreements.
  • Use the website in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

5. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

To access certain features of the Platform, you may be required to create an account. By registering an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account login details.
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breaches.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violating these Terms or for any fraudulent or unauthorized activities.

6. LISTINGS AND USER-GENERATED CONTENT

As a user, you may post listings, images, and other content on Rata.ng. By posting, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the legal right to use and share the content you upload.
  • Your content does not infringe on any third-party rights or violate applicable laws.
  • You will not post false, misleading, or defamatory content.

You grant Rata.ng a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your content on the Platform. Rata.ng reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is deemed inappropriate. 7. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

You agree not to use Rata.ng for illegal or unauthorized purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Posting fraudulent, deceptive, or false information.
  • Engaging in illegal activities, such as selling counterfeit goods or stolen items.
  • Attempting to scam or defraud other users.
  • Distributing viruses or malware.
  • Engaging in activities that harm or compromise the security of the Platform.

8. PAYMENTS AND FEES

Some services on Rata.ng may require payment. You agree to pay all applicable fees as specified on the Platform. We reserve the right to modify our pricing structure and will notify users of such changes in advance.

9. REFUND POLICY

  • One-Time Purchases: Refunds will be issued if requested within 7 days of purchase, provided the service has not been used.
  • Subscriptions: You may cancel subscriptions at any time, but no refunds will be provided for the current billing cycle. Cancellation will take effect in the next billing cycle.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Rata.ng provides a platform for users to buy and sell products, but we do not guarantee the quality, legality, or accuracy of the products or services listed. You agree that Rata.ng is not responsible for:

  • Any damages, losses, or disputes arising from transactions between users.
  • Any harm resulting from the use of the Platform or its content.

Rata.ng shall not be liable for errors, interruptions, or any technical malfunctions affecting the Platform's performance.

11. USER RESPONSIBILITIES

By using Rata.ng, you agree to:

  • Use the Platform lawfully and respectfully.
  • Report any suspicious activity or rule violations.
  • Keep your personal information updated.
  • Avoid engaging in deceptive or fraudulent practices.

12. TERMINATION OF SERVICES

Rata.ng reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause. Reasons for termination include, but are not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms.
  • Engaging in fraudulent or harmful activities.
  • Misuse of the Platform or its content.

Upon termination, you agree to cease all use of the Platform and its services immediately.

13. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content on Rata.ng, including text, images, logos, trademarks, and software, is the intellectual property of Rata.ng or its licensors. You agree not to reproduce, distribute, or modify any content from the Platform without prior written consent from Rata.ng.

14. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold Rata.ng, its affiliates, and employees harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of the rights of any third party.

15. PRIVACY

Your use of Rata.ng is subject to our Privacy Policy, which governs the collection, use, and protection of your data. By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

16. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising out of or related to the use of the Platform, its services, or these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria, and you agree to submit to their jurisdiction.

17. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

If a dispute arises between you and Rata.ng, you agree to attempt to resolve the issue informally by contacting us at hi@rata.ng. If an amicable resolution cannot be reached, legal action may be pursued under the Governing Law section.

18. MODIFICATION OF TERMS

Rata.ng reserves the right to update, modify, or revise these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Platform after such changes signify your acceptance of the updated Terms.
